On this date in 1787, the Constitution of the United States of America was signed by delegates from 12 states at the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia.  The United States Constitution is the world’s oldest working constitution.

Congratulations to our Cavalier junior varsity football team on their victory over Magnolia yesterday.

The Calvary Powerlifting team will be hosting a Calvary night at Newk’s before the Byrd game on Thursday.

The CBA Fall Carnival will be this Friday evening from 4:30-7:30.  Plan now to come enjoy the fun on Friday.

Best Wishes to our Lady Cavs volleyball teams as they host Evangel this evening.  Matches are scheduled to begin at 5:00.

Today is Monday, September 16.  We are on regular schedule today.

Happy Birthday today to Isaiah Brown, Ashton Hester, Cynsere Richard, and Jordan Wallace.

On this date in 1602, the Mayflower, with 102 passengers on board, departed from Plymouth, England headed for the New World.  The voyage across the Atlantic would take over three months, as the little ship would arrive at the location we know as Plymouth Rock on the coast of Massachusetts on December 26.

Congratulations to our Cross-Country Cavaliers who represented us well in the Parkway Invitational on Saturday.

Congratulations, also, to our Cavalier varsity football team on their victory over Southwood last Friday night.  This week the Cavaliers will play on Thursday, as they take on Byrd at Lee Hedges Stadium.  The Calvary Powerlifting team will be hosting a Calvary night at Newk’s before the game on Thursday.

There will be a middle school girls basketball meeting at 6:30 tonight, followed by a high school girls basketball meeting at 7:00.  Both meetings will be in the Fireside Room

Happy Birthday today to Tom Landry.

On this date in 2001,  four airliners were hijacked in the United States and intentionally crashed.  Two of the planes hit New York City’s World Trade Center twin towers, which collapsed shortly afterward.  Another plane hit the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and the fourth plane was crashed into a field in Pennsylvania.

Congratulations to our Lady Cavs volleyball team on their fine effort last night at Mansfield.

Happy Birthday today to Titus Stringer.

On this date in 1953, the Swanson Company began selling its first “TV Dinner”.  The first pre-packaged frozen dinner was a Thanksgiving meal of turkey, dressing, frozen peas and sweet potatoes.  The name, “TV Dinner” came from the shape of the tray it was heated and served on…similar in appearance to the front of a 1950’s television set.  The original TV Dinner sold for 98 cents.

Congratulations to our Cavalier cross-country team for representing CBA well at the Byrd Invitational Saturday.

If you are interested in fishing, there will be a fishing team meeting for students and parents tomorrow evening at 6:00 in the Cafeteria.

Congratulations to our Lady Cavs volleyball team on their continued improvement and success last night against North Caddo.  Next up for the Lady Cavs will be Northwood on Monday.

Congratulations to our middle school cavalier football team on their 33-0 victory at North Webster Junior High last night.  The middle school team will be in action again next Thursday when they travel to Glenbrook.

If you are interested in attending a United States Service Academy after high school graduation, there will be a Service Academy Day at ULM tomorrow morning.  Check with Mrs. Mikesell in the High School Office for more information if you are interested.

Today is the last day to sign-up for PowderPuff football.  The sign-up sheet is in the high school hall across from the office.

There will be a meeting this evening for boys and girls who want to play golf for Calvary this year.  That meeting will be at 6:00 in the Fireside Room.

Powerlifting sign-ups are in Coach Vanderberg’s room, C-101.  Please collect paperwork for all new members.
